World Health Organisation designates Cork a Healthy City
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has designated Cork as a ‘Healthy City’. Designated with Copenhagen (Denmark) and Nantes (France); Cork city can now present itself internationally as a city that is prioritising the health of its citizens. New 30 km/h Speed Zone for Cork City Centre
To improve the overall environment and comfort/safety for pedestrians in Cork City Centre, a 30 km/h speed limit zone is being introduced from 16th November 2011. The purpose of the 30 km/h zone is to give the City Centre a higher profile in terms of being pedestrian/shopper/visitor friendly. It will not involve any restrictions to the City Centre/parking on-street or access to car parks. More.....
