Cork Film Archive  

Come watch a selection of films preserved at the Archive including Cork a forgotten Memory, a view of Cork in 1902; The Echo Boys a documentary made in 1977; and several other memories of Cork. There will be a Q&A session with members of the Archive. Space is limited.

Gael-Taca Corcaigh will screen award winning Irish language film Cré na Cille (6.30pm) in the Children’s Library. There will be lots of Craic, comhrá and a few surprises on the night as well.

Visitors will receive a free book. A film featuring an interview of Frank O’Connor made by the BBC in 1961 will be shown on loop. Made in Cork for the series Monitor, this 17 minute film is not only an affecting portrait of O’Connor but also of the North side of Cork City.
